School Meals

Laycock school lunches are provided by our Caterlink catering team who provide a choice of home made, nutritious and well balanced school meals. Caterlink has it’s own kitchen on-site where all food is made fresh daily using quality produce. Every child at Laycock School gets a free school meal.

Caterlink is the first contract caterer to achieve the Food for Life catering mark awarded by the Soil Association and endorsing its healthy and climate-friendly menus. All of Caterlink’s menus are nutritionally analysed to ensure they meet and, in most cases, exceed the School Food Trust’s nutrient standards.

Right Respecting Schools - Article 24 (health and health services)

"Every child has the right to the best possible health. Governments must provide good quality health care, clean water, nutritious food, and a clean environment and education on health and well-being so that children can stay healthy. Richer countries must help poorer countries achieve this."

Packed Lunches

Children may bring a packed lunch to school, if they prefer. No glass bottles or canned drinks, please.

Please remember that both children and adults at our school have nut allergies, so please make sure that all packed lunches are free of nuts or nut products. Our “Nut-Free Policy” means that the following items should not be brought into school:

  • Packs of nuts
  • Peanut butter sandwiches
  • Fruit and cereal bars that contain nuts
  • Chocolate bars or sweets that contain nuts
  • Sesame seed rolls (children allergic to nuts may also have a severe reaction to sesame)
  • Cakes made with nuts
